Truthfully? It’s delicious.

January 23, 2008

I just watched Fox’s new show “The Moment of Truth.” Once I heard about it, I was immediately drawn to it. In fact, I can’t remember when/if I was ever this excited about a show’s premiere. Kid Nation I was pretty psyched for, the original Survivor too… when I was younger, maybe Animorphs on Nickelodeon… hmm, that’s all that comes to mind. But this show appeals to the darkest parts of the soul, and I can’t help but fall into the lure.

At least the idea of it. The first episode was probably about a B+; the first few questions to each candidate are lame (kind of like Who Wants to be a Millionaire), only the problem is it takes up a decent chunk of time. But once you pass the pushover questions (there were about 3-4 per person), it gets juicy fast.

The contestant revealed that he was hesitant to have children with his wife because he was unsure if she would be his long-term partner. The best (and worst) part was seeing her face. Like I said, it appeals to the darkest parts of the soul.

I really, really didn’t want the show to end. It was that compelling to me. Like everything, it will probably get old quickly. But not yet, certainly not yet.
